squarebanner_thumb.jpgI've put some photos from Linz on Yahoo Photos. In wonder if this is the best photo site. Branding works. The first place I went to look for a photo album online was photos.yahoo.com and there it was. Right now I am using an OSX server and we can't seem to get perl module installed to let me do thumbnails in Movable Type. Also, doing titles and captions was a pain so I wanted to try an album site. On the other hand the photo titles and the layout in Yahoo Photos seems to suck as well. Maybe I haven't figure it out properly... Anyway, here are the photos:

I like imagestation, but there are a lot of them out there...

I guess the thumbnail thing is really bothering you (-; Our current status on the issue is that we're waiting for the next version of MT to be released as it will include support for netpbm which we will use instead. So, we're not actually making any attempt to install ImageMagick at the moment. If it makes you feel any better, I believe Ben Trott is adding netpbm because he was also not happy w/ installation issues regarding ImageMagick.

Thanks for the update Sen. That's OK. I look forward to the new version of MT. It's fun trying out all of the different photo sites. Although this thin pipe is a drag. I downloaded the imagestation uploader (it took almost an hour) and it doesn't work so I'm now a bit frustrated with imagestation, but it looks better than photos.yahoo... Thanks for the tip Trevor.

If you're looking for a reasonably performing album site, you might consider shutterfly.com.

Has your blogging experience caused you any conflict between the desire for privacy and the desire to communicate? I feel it most keenly when I post pictures, and I'm wondering if it's just me.

Bob... I haven't tried Shutterfly, but isn't it mostly for image printing? I just switched my links to imagestation. It works with more bandwidth.

I have started to think a bit about privacy when posting pictures, especially of other people. I also think about copyright of the photos if they are photos that I didn't take... I think about these things, but...
