There's a lot of talk about LOAF these days on #joiito. It's getting pretty hard to keep track of all of these new acronyms. It seems to be an emerging standard, and there isn't much about it on the web yet. jibot on #joiito seems to know the most about it. The only reference I've seen on the web is on britta's blog.

I have been a loaf since my teens so that acronym I'm damn familiar with. I'm loafing in my bed in Vegas right now actually. Finally a spec I think I can follow pretty easily.

LOAF - Leech Off A Friend. Bum a cigarrette, borrow 2000 yen, or crash at their mansion for a month. All standards based - hence they must be good.

LOAF - Lost Opportunities Are Frequent. Subscribe to LOAF to add a disruptor from the School of Hard Knocks to the random Markov chains of events that make up life.

:-)

I assumed LOAF stood for "Lover of a Friend" which is something I wouldn't want to put in an RSS feed...

my name is loaf....there is no meaning to the word so leave it be...loaf is the best name in the world so stop mixing up my head! LOAFxx

I'm finishing up the rest of the conversions between the book examples and Jena2, but I thought I would branch into vocabularies for a moment. I think the home page for FOAF is about the best designed and more cleary understood ones about an RDF vocabu... Read More
