I have decided to discontinue additional investments from Neoteny and focus on supporting its current portfolio of companies. In particular, I believe that Six Apart has enormous potential and most of Neoteny's resources, including me will be focused on helping to make Six Apart a success.

Ugh.

Sorry, Joi. It appears my trackback pings got out of hand.

Oh man. All the time I spent kissing your behind, and for what?! Hmpppfff. No more juice from me, Joi Ito. Nuh uh. No mo'.

(She stomps off stage right.)

;-)

finally make your choice ;-) good luck!

very un vc-like behaviour - be careful Joi, this could set standards for other vc's to actually take a real interest in their cubs... a new business model even... ;)

I wish Neoteny and Six Apart (and the other co's in your charge) the very best of success...

sorry - the above comment sounds a little bitter... this isn't directed towards Joi or Neoteny - just painful experiences of vc co's coming to the surface...

Six Apart is doing the right things and it's good to know they have the right investments behind them.

Woho gunna party like it is 1999 eh?

Seriously I hope that Six Apart makes great software for decades to come.

Can't wait for MT 3.0

Joi,
Please note follow-up email sent today (subject: Changes at Neoteny).
Best,
Maggie

Interesting announcement.

Joi, why have you decided to share this on your site?

I feel a growing depth in your writing and sharing. I'm interested in where you feel you're going with this annoucement?

I've been meaning to share this for awhile, but it became official just a few days ago with an agreement with the shareholders. One of the reasons I'm sharing this information is because I no longer have a team of people actively looking for new business to invest in. I'm still available to help people look at their businesses, but I'm hoping people will stop sending me unsolicited business plans or expect investing to be the primary thing I'm thinking about.

Also, we have some other strong companies in our portfolio and I'm still going to be spending time with them. Don't mean to belittle them here. ;-)

focus is a good thing.

Joi-san,
Six Apart and Technorati!
I think it's great what you are doing for weblogging.
All the best
Roger

Well I guess I won't hit you up for Blogumentary funds then. ;-)

I heartily vote Six Apart for President of the Blogosphere.
