Wikipedia has just announced that it has reached one million articles. Congratulations Wikipedians! Wikipedia is in more than 100 languages with 14 currently having over 10,000 articles. It is ranked one of the ten most popular reference sites on the Internet according to Alexa.com (trumping Reuters, the Wall Street Journal and the LA Times). At the current rate of growth, Wikipedia will double in size again by next spring.

Wikipedia is a volunteer effort supported by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. Please contribute to their fundraising effort.

Coincidentally, this is the 3000th post on this blog.

Actually, you have 1877 entries on this blog.

To clarify: The current entry's postid is 3000, but it doesn't mean you have 3000 entries on this blog. It includes entries you have deleted or entries on the other blogs.

OK... so I've written 3000 blog posts in my moblog/jp blog/en blog if you include the ones that I've deleted. Picky picky...

Hehehe. Do you also want to include the repetitive blog entries that go like "See ya and thanks for all the fish" every time you leave a country (which as everyone knows is pretty often)?
;)

also don't forget the Wikimedia newsletter, Quarto. Now it's available in English, French and Japanese (part). Quarto in English

On page 8, Ars Erectronica Festival and Joi Ito's Blog is refered. :)

I hope on the weekend we will be able to publish it in more languages.

Aphaia: italian version is nearing completion :)

Antonio -- that's great news.
Now I have to check joi's blog for status updates? :)
