Joi Ito's conversation with the living web.

This may be old news, but I just saw FlightAware for the first time. It tracks flights in the US that the FAA manages including general aviation. You find a private plane and then drill down to past flights that the plane has made. Quite amazing. I wish they could do this internationally.

"Operators may request that their aircraft's situational data be barred from public availability by submitting a Block Aircraft Registration Request (BARR)." You can block your corporate aircraft's flight tracking by tail number at this page - http://web.nbaa.org/public/ops/asdi/form.php

I wish we could do it internationally too.
