Hi Joi, you have many pictures that are not tack sharp when I know that the camera can make sharp photos. Therefore please either hold your breath when tripping the shutter or use a tripod to keep it steady or place the camera on a solid surface to use the automatic release to take a picture of yourSelf and not move the camera even a molecule to create a soft edge.
My camera has only 3.3 megapixels and can take a sharp picture even if I move. So something is amiss with your technique, the chosen shutter speed or your focus. Go down the list of options that can cause a soft edge. Some people add an expensive filter to create that effect. If you did that, then disregard the above and keep shooting having a ball!
