Weather report looking kind of promising. But we have learned not to trust them this year. The
Summer Stage would be a great venue. -- Horst
-
- A list of karaoke places (last updated 2002!) is
- will be competing with the football final, anybody motivated apart from Martin and Steph (and maybe Suw if we get her drunk enough and drag her away from the match)?
- You can either try Sing a Song in Palais Eschenbach or one of the Pubs located in the so called "Bermuda Dreieck" near Schwedenplatz. Most of the venues have karaoke only on Sunday night, but I don't whether that is true on the Sunday of the Finals -- Michael

Tourist Information

-
A few touristy suggestions by BlogTalk speaker H. Prillinger
Public Transport Information
The conference venue is within walking distance of Schwedenplatz subway station (lines U1 and U4) and directly across the street from Julius-Raab-Platz tramway station (lines 1, 2 and N).
Notice that there are
four ways of getting from the airport to the city: commuter rail line S7 (EUR 3), airport buses (EUR 6), the heavily advertised CAT express train (EUR 9) and taxis (minimum EUR 30).
-
Official Vienna public transport information (in German only)
Important notice for everyone staying at Hotel Atlas: Underground line U2 will not be in operation on Saturday July 3rd and Sunday July 4th due to engineering works, so the best way to get to Hotel Atlas on these two days is to take underground line U3 to Volkstheater, take the exit to "Ring", change to tramway 46 and get off at Auerspergstrasse.

-
Bar CafŽ Latte (the perfect place for long evenings).
-
CafŽ Ronahi (great arab and kurd food, nice atmosphere, good service, international press)
-
