Oh, lucky you. Zell am See is lovely. Glad you tasted wiener schnitzels. Yum hot with lemon and potatoe salad (or sliced finely cold with lemon and salt in a sandwich). Here's some info for your readers:
The Europe Sport Region of Zell am See and Kaprun in Austria made headlines around the world in November, 2000, when the latter resort suffered the worst disaster in alpine skiing history, the terrible fire that killed 155 skiers in the underground railway.
An old city of stately buildings, Zell am See is a delightful place to stroll in, when you are not skiing. The town sits on a mini-peninsula that juts into a pretty alpine lake. Above the town is the Schmittenhoehe ski area, with 46 miles of groomed slopes in open snowfields at the top and trails through the trees on lower sections.
But this is only part of the attraction. Zell is partner with Kaprun and marketed with the smaller village as the "Europe Sport Region." Kaprun, 10 minutes away by bus, was the scene of the tragic subway fire last November. It has vast snowfields on the glacier under the Kitzsteinhorn mountain.
Statistics for the overall region include 80 miles of marked trails, 56 lifts, a highest vertical of more than 7,400 feet, and a longest run of nearly four miles.
Tschüß. Alles Gute. Seien Sie vorsichtig. Gute Reise!
Good going Joi! The Crazy Daisy place was unfortunately boring when we got there, the next morning it was much more happening in Viva at 5 am.
I was discussing with Reidar that this event presented a new synthesis of work and free time for the future: They become inseparable and are both constantly happening while sleep is nonexistent. The main challenge for wide-scale implementation is in finding new mechanisms for decreasing liver toxicity levels.
