Is it me, or will the first panopticons be pandora's boxes, opened only in emergencies?
Most airbag systems in cars do this already.
Airbags considered harmful (from a privacy perspective, that is ;-)
It'd be great if the device could start beeping as it begins recording, 18 seconds before the accident.
Lane Transit District has quietly upgraded their entire fleet to full-time video recorders as well.
