1001 is a desktop client to be used in conjunction with Flickr, the online photo-sharing website. 1001 not only uploads photos to your Flickr account, it notifies you anytime new photos from either your contacts, everyone, or your favorite tags are uploaded. 1001 allows you to step into the stream of photos passing through Flickr and to quickly see what's new at the moment. Just run the app in the background and if triggered, 1001 pops up a small unobtrusive window to notify you of new photos.Groovy new OS X client by Adriaan for Flickr.
disclosure: Adriaan works for me and I'm an investor in Flickr.
I've been playing with 1001 since last night and it's definitely very, very cool.
At first, I thought Flickr was just a keitai/snapshot/club photo site, people are starting to find that it works for all kinds of photography - I just set up a Flickr group for the JapanPhoto mailing list. It'll give a way for all of the group members to easily see what others in the group are doing - kind of a streaming always-current photo exhibition. It's a nice compliment to the sites that people manage themselves, but are by their nature, disconnected.
I never liked using any web interface for uploading photos though, so using Ado's 1001 is a joy - just drag, drop and tag your photos.
Thanks, guys!
Ok, what is the deal with these crappy names for your cool software Adriaan? ecto? 1001? Huh?
