Joi Ito's conversation with the living web.

For 16 years, WITNESS has harnessed the power of video to advance human rights. In honor of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10th, we've put together this short video with different WITNESS staff talking about images that opened their eyes to human rights abuses around the world. Hi Joi,

Thanks for your post and invitation for folks to join the conversation - which is shaping-up to be pretty interesting. We knew that the question could spark some interesting conversations, but we weren't sure how much it would resonate with folks and get picked-up on various platforms.

The feature on YouTube's homepage and via its blog yielded the expected surge of views that comes with such prime real estate; however, the amount of comments (over 700 by now) was of note for us and we're still watching and participating there.

The conversation on the Hub has been very interesting, and a bit more...focused. Folks are linking historical footage - and footage on the Hub - in their response to the question. All, please come and join the conversation ->
