Joi!
I'm surprised you are not marked as a threat to national security! ;)
Happy birthday man.

That's the new one that has all of your DNA encoded in the barcode. That way, if you're lost in transit, they can whip up a new Joi Ito in the DHS labs...

Happy Birthday, Joi.

Hmm.
Are you being singled out because of "World of Warcraft" sounds a little too dangerous for the desk-jockeys in Homeland Security?
And you are a "mage" as well!
Just imagine what "World of Warcraft" "priests" must go through.

Looks like a PDF417 2D “bar code”, as used on ID cards or driving licences e.g. in the Philippines or South Africa.
PDF417 can encode biometric data like facial features (e.g. number of eyes ? ;-) and fingerprint information.
IMHO, it makes more sense for the US to issue such visa certificates, than trying to convince each and every country in the world to issue new machine-readable passports with embedded biometric chips... At least, skimming the unsuspecting owner's passport data using a RFID-like receiver would be impossible, and the biometric data will have to be disclosed only by people like Joi who make a deliberate choice to travel to (or via) the US.

Thank God we're keeping tabs on Ito. That dangerous bastard.

Now Porter Goss and GWB have more time to think about how to more effectively kiss the collective ass of the Bin Laden family.
